With a good selection of wines from around the world and a well-stocked bar, the Bula Bar, with its convivial atmosphere, is the perfect place to unwind after a long day in the sun.
Caring for the environment is a high priority at Viwa Island Resort. We are blessed by nature with a beautiful white sandy beach and crystal clear turquoise waters and our secluded location offers a marine environment teeming with life. The island is surrounded by a vast, colourful coral reef offering sensational diving, snorkelling and fishing. Many areas are as yet untouched and waiting to be explored. It’s our aim to treasure and preserve our little corner of Paradise.
You will get a unique opportunity to experience the real Fiji at Viwa Island Resort. With 3 villages on the island, a school, a kindergarten and a number of churches, you can immerse yourself in authentic Fijian culture and enjoy true Fijian hospitality at its best. The friendliness of the villagers and the exuberance of the children will make your Fijian experience totally unforgettable.
Viwa Island Resort is committed to helping the community and works closely with the nearby village of Naibalebale, a short 7-minute walk from the resort. The village is home to some 300 people, including most of the resort staff, and has a church and a nursing station.
Naibalebale also has a junior school which is attended by around 82 children from the island, some of whom come from Najia, the village on the far side of the island, who board at the school during the week and return home at weekends. As part of our commitment to the community, the resort raises funds for the school through crab racing and other fun activities. Our initial project to build a new school library has now been completed, many thanks to all the guests who contributed. Our next initiative is to build a new kindergarten as part of the junior school.
